It's been sort of chilly here in SE Texas the last couple of days. I had to turn on the furnace!!!
I'm thankful for good friends. Friends who don't think twice to pitch in and help when another friend is in need.
A friend like Christina and her hubby Brad who drove all the way from New Braunfels to Houston with coolers full of frozen home-made meals for us to eat when I too sick to cook. All of my knitting friends who knit lovely, stylish hats for me to wear to keep my bald head warm. (I won't try to name everyone because I know I will miss one or two of you, but you all know who you are!) Helpful neighbors who brought over complete, hot, home-cooked meals so my hubby wouldn't starve! Even a friend from Pennsylvania (you know who you are Cindy) who sent a bouquet of fruit that tasted so yummy!!
If you know someone who is going through a rough patch in their life, even the littlest thing can mean the world.
We all say 'If there is anything you need, just give me a call'. And we really mean it. But most people hesitate to ask. Instead, maybe offer to pick something up at the store for them when you go. Or help out the care-giver. It gets rough on them, too.
Without friends this world would be one big lonely place!
