A New Meaning!

This evening Kevin gives new meaning to the pharse 'playing in the pool' !!!

Tequila!

Our quest in search of the perfect  meal continued tonight at Tequila Lopez here in Sugar Land.

I must say this experience was much better than the last!

I again ordered the chicken fajitas and they were excellent!

Kevin, on the other hand, ordered Cabrito.

 

In case you are unfamiliar with this dish, it's baby goat!  He loved it!

I did have to explain to my daughter (we were texting about our dinner plans while she was stuck in LA rush hour traffic) that the baby goat was what he had ordered to eat and not the entertainment!!!

We were also serenaded by a mariachi band during our feast.

What more could one ask for?

Socks, socks, and hats!

This blog hasn't turned into a knitting blog, it just looks that way!

Kevin decided he wanted a hand-knit pair of socks for himself so he was next on my knitting list (and trust me, the list keeps getting longer and longer!). He wanted a more "manly" color than the ones I made for myself. He modeled them last night,,,

 

My baby sister was next on the list. She wanted a hat that she could wear to work that wouldn't make her head hurt (long story). I made this hat for her so she could poke her long hair out of the back of it while keeping her head warm!

That's all for now. I'd better get back to my list!

Doing Laundry!

As most of my friends and family know by now I've taken up knitting to stay out of trouble. For the most part this has worked!

Some knitters have handy little sock forms they use when drying their hand-washed goods.

Me? I just have to put them on my feet and sit out by the pool until they are dry!! Such a difficult process, but hey, somebody has to do it! *S*

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pray for Japan

Over the years I have visited Japan many times, mainly for work purposes.  In that time I have made many friends from all over the country.

One of the areas I frequently visited was Koriyama (where I took this picture), just south of Sendai.

I pray that my many friends are safe.

Last Thanksgiving (yes, I really amthat far behind!) we took a trip with the kids and grandkids to the aquarium at Moody Gardens in Galveston.  Great place!!!

New Things

Yes, I know, it's been a while since my last post.

So I'm off on a new foot, so to speak, and I'm going to try to post a little more.

Lots of new things in my arena here lately!  A new hobby/craft began consuming my time about a year ago,,,knitting!  Oh how I love to knit! In fact, if I let it, knitting could consume my every minute of the day!  But mundane tasks, like cooking, laundry, or house cleaning tend to find a way to disrupt my new found way of life!

A new phone over the weekend means a better camera and an easier way to transfer pics!

A new restaurant found over the weekend gave me the perfect opportunity to try the camera.  Finding Mexican food in SE Texas is not that hard to do! Finding good Mexican food is a little bit harder to do.  Most of the places we have tried have been pretty good.

Kevin ordered a taco salad at Carmelo's.  It looks a lot better than it tastes, trust me.  I had chicken fajitas and they weren't all that great, either. Maybe the cook was having a 'bad' day?
