I know I haven't posted in a few days; between work and worry about family and friends in Louisiana, there just hasn't been time! There are still a few friends no one has heard anything from, but all the family is accounted for.
One aerial photo of where my hometown used to be sort of tells the whole story. Lower Plaquemines Parish (the tip of the boot shape of Louisiana) is gone!

In this picture, the Mississippi river is shown on the left, the Gulf of Mexico is on the right and the trees in the middles used to be home.
Having lived through hurricanes before, the best way to help is donate money for relief efforts. Personally, the best organization that provides the most help is The Salvation Army.
The governor of Louisiana has declared today a day of prayer for it's citizens. I'd say it's going to take all that and more,,,
