I'm Unique!!

Sometimes being unique sucks! 

Take my cancer, for example. It's classified as lung cancer, but it's not in my lungs. It's on the outside, with arteries, blood vessels and nerves tangled up in it. It's fast growing. It's a pain in the @ss!!

My doctor said my tumor was discussed at a round table discussion. All the doctors agreed that it needed to be hit with another triple dose of chemo,,,tomorrow!  Yippee-i-a-cowpattie!

Had to have an xray of the lungs this afternoon since I have such a horrible cough. Doctor doesn't think it is pneumonia but maybe broncitis.

What next??????

Okay, my rant is over. You may return to regular programming.

AND I got a new tee shirt from my sister(s),,,the front reads "cancer sucks". 

Now THAT they got right!

Off to the Doctor

Well, today I go back to the doctor to see how I am progressing and set up three more rounds of chemo.  Seems like you have to get better to die...*L* I'm joking!!!

I was too sick to go through any more chemo for a while. Now that I'm feeling better I'm sure it's time to get sick again.

I've learned so many things since I've gotten sick.

I've many friends who really care. Many friends (and people I don't even know) who are saying prayers for me. I've learned to let go of many things I felt I needed to control, like how my laundry is done or where my dishes are put away when they are clean. 

I'm learning how to tie a pretty mean turban. I did a bang-up job this morning. I can still tie a bandana that makes me look like Rosie the riveter! 

I've also realized that I'm pretty glad we (Kevin and I) have traveled and seen the things we have seen, been the places we've been and plan to continue to do so!

I'm really looking forward to riding a zip line!

Got my hair cut done today.

For years I've told my kids they can't get away with anything!

Now I have proof!

Hair Cut!

OK, don't get your panties in a wad coz I'm not posting pictures here today, but I'm pretty sure today is the day that this hair has GOT to come off!!

When you put your hand up to your head and clumps of hair come back with it, it's time to get rid of it!

I've been upstairs looking through my closet because I was SURE I had a bunch of real pretty silk scarves...if I do I don't remember where I put them. Found a couple that will do for now.  When the weather cools down enough so I can breathe outside, a trip to Macy's is in the works. I know they have some pretty, colorful scarves! 

I remember my Mom tying a bandana up as a turban around her head. She had long hair and I never could figure out why she tied it up like that. Of course, we lived in southern Louisiana with no air conditioner back then so I guess it was one way for her to try to stay cool. I'll have to find the picture of her in bed with my newborn sister Nancy and me sitting on the edge of the bed not looking all that happy at being moved over! But Mom had her turban on then,,,funny the things you remember as you go through different stages of your life!

 

Chemo really sucks!

Yep, the big bad "C" is back. This time it was found in a mass in my chest with the carotid artery and many many blood vessels all stuck in there together. They can't operate, so sucks to be me right now. Finished my first chemo a little over a week ago, just now able to get up and around!

I had bladder cancer 7 years ago and let me tell you that was a walk in the park compared to this!

I guess it doesn't suck to be me so much. I'm still breathing, can finally swallow and I don't have to do chemo for another week!!! The Dr was going to do every week, but then decided to give me mega doses instead. Knocks ya on your butt!

I got over this 7 years ago and I'm GOING to get over it this time if it kills me!! (Wonder where that saying originated? I'll have to Google that later on)
