Okay, we did get out this weekend and do a little snooping, a little shopping and a lot of eating!!
I first found this beautiful plant/bush/shrub or whatever it's called in this neck of the woods and had no idea what it was. I did know the small flowers were pretty, sort of reminded me of a cluster of lilac flowers but not that big.
Turns out it's called Lantana or more locally known as 'Ham 'n Eggs'; guess ya just have to see the picture to understand the nickname.
Okay, I'm updating my blog!! Geez, just coz I took some time off everyone thought I had shriveled up and died!!!
We had a rather quiet weekend and it was nice.
We did go to see Law Abiding Citizen and we both thouroughly enjoyed the movie!! Not a chick flick, but an action packed, blood and guts, swear-word packed movie. (In other words, not for kids or the faint of heart!)
The sad part of the whole movie is the realization that this kind of shit happens every day in our courts!
Yesterday, while waiting for my prescription at the drugstore, I strolled through the different areas of the store when I noticed what I thought at the time was a rather odd choice of product placement.
Encased behind locked doors were, from top to bottom shelf, a display of KY jellies, Trojan prophylactics, pregnancy tests and on the bottom shelf,,,blood pressure monitors!!
I guess it did make sense if you only thought about it for a while!!! *L*
There must be an easy way to do it!! Thousands of people do it everyday!!
I ventured out last week to a new family physician's office. The office wasn't all the way 'downtown' but it was a little farther into town than I had ever ventured.
I have only one thing to say,,,
DO NOT GET LOST IN HOUSTON AT 4:00 PM!!!
I thought I knew which way to go after I came out of the parking lot! (famous last words!)
I was so lost I couldn't even get off the side of the road to plug my home address into my GPS phone to get step by step directions,,,even if I had found a place, the section of town I was in wasn't condusive to curbside parking.
I just thank my lucky stars I had printed out the map from Mapquest when I looked up the directions to the doctor's office.
I will be hitting the bookstore this week to buy one of those orange-bound key maps of the city!
