Early Morning Nirvana

For me that is sitting in a quiet house with the early morning sun shining through the window, a cup of freshly brewed coffee on my desk, reading the news online.

The next few weeks will be hectic as we mustget all of the projects we've started wrapped up. We'll also be taking another trip to NC to check on the chitlins along with a commitment we made to stay with the hubby's teenage niece while her parents take a much deserved (the first, actually!) week-long holiday alone.

Other mind-shattering activities are in the works, but as Scarlett O'Hara says:

 'I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow.'

Congress's Health Care

There's an old saying that comes to mind as I read the morning news,,,"What's good for the goose is good for the gander."  (Look it up if you don't understand what it means!)

IF the proposed government health care plan is so good, why will the members of Congress (and their precious families) be exempt from enrolling?

Are they so much better than the average American that they deserve special care?

During the Imposter's campaign he said:  "If you don't have health insurance, you'll be able to get the same kind of health insurance that members of Congress give themselves."

If that is the case, then I say Washington should set the example and enroll in the same plan that they are forcing down the throat of everyone else in this country.

And yes, Mr. Imposter, that goes for you, your wife and your precious little girls too!

Rainy Day Sunshine

My Grandmother used to say 'Rain in the sunshine, rain tomorrow' and most of the time she was right.

I thought of that yesterday driving back from the airport; I rain into a patch of about 10 raindrops out of a clear blue sunny sky.  Yep, you guessed it - got up this morning to a soggy, gray rainy day. High temperature for today is predicted to only be 69 F!!!

One good thing about a slow, all-day rain (other than the fact that we really needed a little rain); it makes pulling weeds out of the flower bed a little easier! I really need to get that done soon. I suppose I could put on my raincoat and do it today. On second thought, why do today what you can put off until tomorrow???

The Summer That Never Was

Holy crap, here it is the last part of July and the temperatures this morning was in the 50's!!!  It's warmed up to 62 right now (9:30 am) and supposed to get all the way up to 80 and rain this afternoon.  What crazy weather!

I pick the hubby up around 12:30 today and send him off to Houston, Tx for a job interview.  I'm sure a move to that part of the country won't have us complaining about the cool morning temperatures!!  In fact, I'm sure it will be the other extreme that we'd be talking about.

I have no idea what the next few months hold for us. We may move, we may stay here; whatever happens it will be an adventure!

Nurse Krissy

Last week was a busy one for us all; this week looks like it's gonna shake out about the same.

Last Thursday I carried my #2 daughter over to sit for her RN boards.  She passed!!!

A single mother with two chitlins of her own, she went to school full time and worked every Sat and Sun 12 hour shifts as an LPN.  All her hard work paid off, though.

I'm proud of her and what she has accomplished. She has done without a lot to get to where she is now.  Three cheers for Nurse Krissy!!

Bath and Body Works

Sweet niblets, I've found a wonderful fragrance at Bath and Body Works!!!

It's called Black Amethyst and the company's description doesn't do it justice!  This fragrance lasts alll day long. I used the shower gel and then slathered on the body lotion after a morning shower and still could detect a slight fragrance when I went to bed that night.  Granted, I hadn't been out hoeing corn all afternoon in the hot sun; I doubt anything would hold up to a day's worth of manual labor!

Too bad the hubby's sense of smell is almost nill!

Orders Revoked!

According to an article at WND, 

A U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida scheduled to report for deployment to Afghanistan within days has had his military orders revoked after arguing he should not be required to serve under a president who has not proven his eligibility for office.

Hurray for somebody finally standing up and saying I'm not going to blindly follow someone who can't (or won't) prove he is eligible to give orders!

It would be something so simple to prove IF he had the document.

I wonder if the same arguement will work on April 15th, when we have to pay our taxes to a government that is led by a false prophet?
