This week's Carnival of Recipes requests are for pork recipes. Call this whatever you want to call it, just call me when it's ready!!
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped bell pepper
- 2 T butter or margarine
- 1 lb diced link pork sausage
- 1 14.5 oz can of tomatoes (with juice)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 3 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 T hot sauce (or to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Saute onion and bell pepper in butter until clear. Add diced pork sausage and cook until pork sausage is lightly browned.
Stir into veggie/sausage mix the can of tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and bouillon cubes.
Add uncooked rice, hot sauce, salt and pepper to your liking! Pour into a greased casserole dish and bake for about 45 minutes
This recipe sounds a lot like the 'Tomato Paste Gravy on Rice' we ate when we were kids, except this has meat and taste!
