Many of you have emailed asking about my brother-in-law (which I greatly appreciate!) Lots of prayers are going out his way; another thing I and my family are thankful for.
Monday he had surgery to remove the brain tumor. Tuesday he slipped into a coma and had to be put on a respirator. His brain is swelling, so the doctors installed a tube of some sort in an attempt to reduce the pressure. He responds to painful stimuli, which is a good sign, but not to spoken requests. His temp started going up yesterday afternoon; so far, they don't know why.
It's times like these that makes one realize how much family means. More than anything else in life, blood is blood, and if one is hurting, we all hurt. My sister (and her husband) are both RN's, so she knows what is happening. I'm not sure if at this point it is a good or a bad thing.
I don't write this for sympathy or attention, but maybe as a call to all,,,spend time with family whenever you can.
