My Mother passed away when I was 25. We didn't have the best of relationships. I think, if she had lived longer, we would have gotten over it. I was (and still am) headstrong and so was she. I guess we were too much alike to get along.
I guess if I had any words of wisdom to pass along today, it would be to reconcile any differences you may have with the woman who brought you into this world, or the woman who raised you, sat up with you when you were sick, and yes, even punished you when you did wrong.
Motherhood is a hell of a job; I know, I've been there and done that! I was a single Mom, working full time and going to college at night. I made lots of mistakes; some things I wish I could do over, but overall my brood turned out pretty good.
So hug a Mom today, even if it isn't your own!
